Northern Ethiopia Tour including Abune Yemata Church 7 Days

Upon arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel for check-in and breakfast. After breakfast, we will visit a traditional Ethiopian restaurant where you will experience the famous Ethiopian coffee ceremony, watch coffee roasting, and enjoy freshly brewed coffee. We will then continue to Mercato, the largest open-air market in Africa, followed by a visit to the National Museum, home of the famous fossil "Lucy." Early in the morning, after breakfast, we will transfer to the airport for a 45-minute flight (659 km) from Addis Ababa to Gondar. Upon arrival, our driver will meet you and begin the scenic 110 km drive Gondar to Sankaber in the Simien Mountains National Park. During the excursion, you will encounter more than ten groups of Gelada Baboons and observe a variety of bird species, including the Lammergeier (Bearded Vulture), Augur Buzzard, Thick-billed Raven, and Rüppell's Vulture. A packed lunch will be served during the tour, and at approximately 4:00 PM we will return to Gondar for an overnight stay Haile resort

After breakfast, we will explore the historic sites of Gondar, including the Royal Enclosure (Fasil Ghebbi), ancient castles, and beautiful churches. At 11:30 AM, we will return to the hotel for lunch, check out, and transfer to the airport for the flight to Lalibela, located approximately 350 km away. Upon arrival, our driver will transfer you to your hotel before beginning an afternoon tour of the first group of rock-hewn churches, including Bete Medhane Alem, Bete Maryam, and Bete Michael. Following breakfast, we will continue exploring Lalibela's remarkable churches, visiting the second and third church groups. After breakfast, we will take a one-hour flight from Addis Ababa to the ancient city of Axum. Upon arrival, our driver will transfer you to the hotel before beginning a tour of the city's sacred and historical landmarks, including St. Mary of Zion Church and other important religious sites. Following lunch at the hotel, we will visit the famous Axum Stelae Park and the ancient royal tombs of Axumite kings. After breakfast, we will drive 132 km from Axum to Hawzen through the scenic landscapes of the Tigray region. Upon arrival, we will check into the hotel and continue to the extraordinary Abune Yemata Guh Church, located approximately 12 km from Hawzen. This famous "sky church" is renowned for its dramatic cliff-side location, breathtaking views, and centuries-old religious paintings. Early in the morning, after breakfast, we will drive to Wukro to visit some of the region's remarkable ancient rock-hewn churches and historical sites. Following the morning excursion, we will return for lunch before continuing to Mekelle, located approximately 110 km away. Upon arrival in Mekelle, we will transfer to the airport for the flight back to Addis Ababa. In the evening, you will enjoy a farewell dinner at a traditional Ethiopian restaurant featuring cultural music and dance performances before your final transfer to the international airport for departure.
